URGENT ACTION ALERT: ILLINOIS RIGHT TO KNOW AND GEOLOCATION PRIVACY BILLS

On Thursday the Illinois House Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and IT Committee will vote on two monumentally important privacy bills: The RIGHT TO KNOW ACT and The GEOLOCATION PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT. If passed, we will finally learn which companies are selling our highly sensitive personal information to Palantir, Cambridge Analytica, and thousands of other data miners. The Illinois House sponsors of these bills are incredibly strong advocates, but they need our help to get them passed out of committee.

You can make an immediate impact by filing witness slips (or "slipping") in support of these bills. All the slips will be entered into the record by the committee on Thursday before the hearing. High slip counts are critical to passing important legislation that the powerful internet tech lobbies oppose.

* SLIP AS A PROPONENT OF THE GEOLOCATION INFORMATION PRIVACY ACT HERE AND TRACK THE PROGRESS.

This is our chance to take back our country in a meaningful way. The Federal Government has failed us. Change must happen locally, but state legislative calendars are quickly coming to a close. If these measures don't make it out of committee on Thursday, they can't be considered again until next year. The time is now! Please send this page to your friends and share on social media!

STAND UP. RESIST. ENGAGE.
